Description:

  • Level of gear fluid is too high

Possible Symptoms:

  • Inability to shift gears smoothly

  • Possible higher fuel consumption

Possible Causes:

  • Low transmission fluid level

  • Dirty transmission fluid

  • Poor or defective wiring on pressure solenoid

  • Defective valve body or pressure solenoid

Related Parts:

  • Transmission Fluid Level Sensor: Oil is used to lubricate parts of the gear system. The transmission fluid level sensor measures the oil level in the gear box. Problems lead to difficulty in shifting gear stick

Possible Solutions:

  • Do continuity tests and voltage drops for the Pressure Control Solenoid. If the electrical tests are within the recommended parameters, then using a pressure gauge you should test the performance of the Pressure Control Solenoid

  • A visual inspection performed looking for any damage or possible transmission leaks
