P0411

2017-10-10

Description:

  • The fault code P0411 indicates that there is an issue with the secondary air injection system in the vehicle. This system is responsible for reducing emissions by injecting air into the exhaust system. An issue with this system may cause the vehicle to fail emissions tests and may also cause damage to the catalytic converter.

Possible Symptoms:

  • Illuminated check engine light

  • Failed emissions test

  • Rough idle or stalling

  • Reduced engine power or acceleration

  • Damage to the catalytic converter

Possible Causes:

  • Failed air pump

  • Faulty check valve

  • Clogged air injection hose or pipe

  • Damaged or faulty air injection solenoid valve

  • Faulty oxygen sensor

  • Failed engine control module (ECM)

Related Parts:

  • Exhaust Pipe Air Injection: Air is injected into the exhaust gases for better combustion of unburnt fuel and pollutants. This allows better exhaust emission. Problems lead to harmful emissions out of limit

Possible Solutions:

  • Replace the air pump

  • Replace the check valve

  • Clean or replace the air injection hose or pipe

  • Replace the air injection solenoid valve

  • Replace the oxygen sensor

  • Replace the engine control module (ECM) if necessary
