Inspect the wiring and connections for any damage or loose connections and repair if necessary.
Check the camshaft position sensor and replace if faulty.
Clean or replace the camshaft profile actuator.
Perform an engine control module (ECM) reflash or update.
As a last resort, replace the camshaft profile actuator if all other solutions have been exhausted.
Faulty or worn camshaft position actuator
Low oil pressure or insufficient lubrication to the camshaft position actuator
Corroded or damaged wiring or connectors in the control circuit of bank 1
Malfunctioning engine control module (ECM) or powertrain control module (PCM)
Incorrect camshaft timing due to a faulty timing chain or belt
Engine misfires or runs rough
Decreased engine performance or power
Poor acceleration or hesitation when accelerating
Engine stalling or difficulty in starting
Increased fuel consumption or decreased fuel efficiency
