P0106

2017-10-10

Description:

  • The fault code P0106 suggests that there is an issue with the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) or Barometric Pressure (BARO) sensor circuit. This may cause the engine to operate inefficiently or even stall in extreme cases.

Possible Symptoms:

  • Engine runs poorly or stalls

  • Decreased fuel economy

  • Illuminated check engine light

  • Rough idle or hesitation during acceleration

Possible Causes:

  • Defective or failing MAP/BARO sensor

  • Broken or corroded wiring in the sensor circuit

  • Loose or damaged electrical connections in the circuit

  • Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

Related Parts:

  • Manifold Pressure Sensor: Manifold Pressure sensor measures the pressure of air flowing in the engine from outside to ensure proper fuel combustion. This car's malfunctioning pressure sensor will lead to engine misfire, poor fuel economy & rough running

Possible Solutions:

  • Replace the faulty MAP/BARO sensor

  • Check and repair any damaged wiring or connections

  • Clean or tighten any loose or corroded electrical connections

  • Replace the Engine Control Module (ECM) if required
